I bought this CD player at Best Buy using a gift certificate I received for Christmas, and I also layed down more for a 2-year warranty (hard to turn down), which is good for repairs or replacements at Best Buy. This is a good CD player for the price. The sound is excellent, especially with the bass boost on. It sounds great coming from my 6 1/2" Infinity speakers. The car accessories that come with it are pretty nifty, too. I was torn between buying an in-dash CD player and this, but all-in-all I'm happy with my purchase. It works out especially well for me, since I am allowed to listen to music while I'm at work. Most of my day is spent working, so I'm definitely getting my money's worth. There are a couple of drawbacks, though. The button to open the CD player pretty much sucks, especially when you're trying to open it while you're driving. It can be a downright dangerous task at times. The volume contol buttons aren't much good either because they're really small and are also a pain to mess with while driving. The good outweighs the bad, though, so in my opinion it's worth the money.

Why would anyone fork over 60 bucks for this, when much cheaper options are available for allowing you to play a CD Player through an existing cassette tape player. Makes no sense.br /br /Oh, I get it, High profits for Sony, lol.br /

What's with the BEEPS?! - D. Song - Laguna Niguel, CA
Wow, what a lousy CD player! I don't know about the sound quality coming out of the headphones, but the noise coming out of this unit through the cassett adaptor is unacceptable. What's even worse, if you were to change tracks or pause, there's a SCREECHING loud BEEPING noise. What's with that?! Stay away from this one folks.

I do not recommend purchasing this unit. - Unhappy with Coby - Sunnyvale, CA
This unit did not work and I returned it to Coby for a refund. Their customer service department told me I needed to send them another .00 for them to send it back to me so that I could send it to Amazon. This was after I paid .00 to ship it to Coby in the first place! I found Coby's customer service department to be very rude and unaccommodating. They also didn't list in their product description all the things that I would consider standard that this unit does not come with and they told me I could just buy the adaptor and other accessories that should come with a unit like this. Amazon.com stepped in with great customer service and gave me a full refund. This will be the last time I buy from COBY.

I love this! Not only does it sound great but looks cool as well. I place it in my "walkman" belt and go on my way! I use this mostly at the gym. I have used it on the Treadmill, Stairmaster, and even have used it while doing step aerobics! No problem. It had skipped on me only once or twice, but I haven't adjusted the skip on the player. I give it an A!

Does the Job-for a while - D. Spamer - Exton, PA
This CD player was great at first. My kids used it all the time, especially on car/bus rides to school. However, after a few months of sitting in a carefully selected backpack pouch, buttons stopped working. They were not very sturdy and the batteries started to run low faster. Good as a temporary fix, but not a sturdy system.

this player is excellent. i have had it for over a year and i can vouch for the fact that it is skip free, amazing quality and the id3 tags works like a charm. couple of gripes: no rechargables and no AC adapter but it is still undoubtably a great deal at 50$ brlack of remote and backlight could be reasons for this low cost. however, the quality of playback and skip free good sound makes up wholesomely for it.bri also have a panasonic mp3-cd bought a month back (hence newer) and yet i feel the RCA scores over this one on pure clarity and skip free music.bryou cant go wrong withthis one as a good low cost mp3 cd player

Still a good unit to have - IanM - Ontario, Canada
After owning this item for many years, I can say it's given me plenty of good use. It does occasionally have problems with skipping (a very harsh quick buzzing noise) or garbling, but more often than not it works perfectly fine.br /br /One important note: this unit prefers CDRs to be recorded using "Mode 2/XA". Many cdr burning programs default to Mode 1, but in Nero you can choose Mode 2/XA. Mode 1 CDRs may not play very well, if at all, so beware of this. It's possible newer RCA models will have the same issue. br /br /If you can find this unit used or in a discount bin for cheap, grab it.

Great little CD/MP3 Player - -
I've had this CD player for a while and I love it. It's great. Good sound and as others have noted, it doesn't skip and I've tried. Batteries seemed to last ok.pMy complaintsbr1) - The cord of the remote is broken after 6 months of careful use. I don't know if RCA or someone makes a replacement.br2) - Random - what the %*#^% is the problem there? Random to me means different songs every time. This thing seems to generate a random list and plays it in that same order every time. Is that a common problem with CD players?pPretty minor - you won't go wrong for this price.

This Sony D-NE330 Walkman has nice sound, reads ID3 Tag, comes with a remote, looks slim and sleek, has a hole for lanyard and plays MP3 CD for 40 hours on 1AA battery. The only one thing missing is the radio. Although the remote does not have LCD, and the LCD on the player does not have backlight, it is still an excellent CD walkman. The CD player makes some noise when reading the CD, but it is not a big problem for me. My Sony D-NE330 Walkman is black color, and I really love it. br /br /The D-NF430 is what I wanted in the beginning. They look almost identical but the D-NF430 model has a radio. However, I could not find D-NF430 in store or on the internet, so I bought this one. It looks beautiful and sounds beautiful. I especially like the remote control. My Sony D-NF420 has a radio but no remote control, both of them are very good MP3 CD player. Can't go wrong with Sony CD walkman :)

My favorite CD Walkman - Mark J. Strong - Charlotte, NC
I've tried almost all of the Sony CD Walkmans, including the top-of-the-line D-NE20 and D-NE900, as well as the current D-NF340. In my opinion, this player captures the great sound of the D-NE20 at a much lower price, and the sound/volume of the D-NE330 with equalizer and "clearbass" is superior to the D-NF340, which does not have the equalizer. Lack of a radio on the 330 is not a problem, I never one anyway. Buttons on the remote are diminutive and a bit harder to use compared the D-NF340, but you can clip it to your belt, which is very convenient. The remote for the D-NF340, while excellent, hangs free (I use these players in the gym exlusively). With a high-end earphone such as the superb Westone 3, you have amazingly rich sound with full bass that blows any MP3 player right out of the water. Get one before they're all gone.

One hard to find item these days. Pretty good sound quality. A few choices for tone customization. No back light. Hardly needed though not much song information there anyway.br /br /Does beep with every press of skip fwd or back. Plays a CD with both MP3s and WMA files without issue. Buttons feel flimsy both on remote and on unit but single battery lasts forever. These are still lovely to have for private listening for those of us who just don't want to convert or buy-all-over-again a large cd collection.

I got this product for Christmas so long ago. Everything works properly and as it should. I can use the headphones for everything without the inside of my ear getting sore. One con is that if you don't set it down gently on a surface or bump it in any way, it will freeze. Other than that, Sony did a good job on designing this CD player.

The Craig personal CD player is a good buy. The sound quality is very good. With anti-skip technology, it can play CDs with which my car stereo has trouble. It's lightweight and the headphones are adequate. (Since this was a replacement for a Sony player, I decided to stick with my old headphones.) The manual indicates how you can buy an adapter to play through a stereo, do random play, or repeat a favorite track. It's lightweight, easy to stick in a travelling bag. The wall adapter to draw power from a plug that I used with my previous player fits into the port, but I haven't been able to get the player to work off AC current. With batteries, it works well. Particularly with the value for the money, this is a good buy.

I have had this product for about five years. I have been very pleased with it over-all. It has withstood normal use and performed well. It seems to have a reasonable tollerance for somewhat scratched CDs. It will play recordable and rewriteable CDs with no problems. I am particularly impressed with the long battery life. I have not tested it to see if it meets the advertized 33 hrs, but it possibly could approach that. It plays far longer on a pair of AA batteries than any other CD player I have ever had. When AA cells have finished their life in other equipment, I put them in this player to play for hours and squeeze the last pennies worth of electrons out of them. The anti-skip feature does work, but still, has it's limits, of course. It is workable for most of the time I wear it without skips. Be aware, however, that it takes more energy to run the anti-skip mode. If you want the longest battery life and the player is motionless, turn off the anti-skip. The one thing that has disappointed me is that it did not come with a standard pair of headphones. The behind the head configuration has tabs that rest on the bones behind my ears and it does not take long for them to start hurting. Ouch! I use a different pair of headphones that loop over my head as usual.

Great Player - -
I got this a couple years ago and it was great. It had very good sound quality. It uses 2 AA batteries. The batteries take very long to wear out. However, after a few years the walkman will sometimes skip and the music will have to pause for a couple seconds. At first I thought this was the CD but the CD worked fine in my boom box. br / Overall this is a great portable CD player. I give it a 8.5 out of 10.
